I had my first ever radio analytics meeting last Wednesday, June 5th. Attending the meeting was Dr. Basil Yarde of WEZE 590 AM and David Schapira. David is a consultant hired by Salem Media whose business tracks the performance of all of the organization's radio programs
across the country.
The numbers were encouraging.
- Over 1,000 visitors came to the Gramazin website in May directly from the radio broadcast.
- Our 30-second radio spots did very well.
- While I can't cite the statistic, my radio show scored a 3.97% when the industry norm for radio
is 3-4%.
As a result of this meeting, and subsequent conversations, I am going to take the following actions to improve the performance of my radio show and to generate donations.
- Produce a different 30-second commercial every two weeks.
- Pursue a strategy of garnering sponsorships for my radio show given the relatively high
interest in people wanting to be on the show.
- Rework the main menu on Gramazin.com.
- Produce a video where I speak directly and personally to the Gramazin audience.
- Produce new social media and radio campaigns that are expected to generate broad interest. We have identified several new campaigns and I will introduce them at a later date.
